Experience & Knowledge with a Family Feel
Mike and Carole were both brought up on farms, riding and competing from a young age. That passion was passed on to their sons; Barry, Jack and Joe, each of whom competed at all major shows including HOYS.
Although there is no competing these days, the knowledge and appreciation for these wonderful animals has never waivered.
Whilst his brothers have pursued other ambitions, Joe has remained hands on at the farm and was the driving force behind the expansion into a retirement livery.
Fir Tree Farm is set in the heart of Cheshire. We have over 200 acres with a mixture of crops and animals. The farm is a hive of activity meaning there are always staff on hand around the clock.
Originally Grandad Bill and Grandma Hetty bought and ran the farm before their son, Mike and his wife Carole took on the farm and made it what it is today. After milking cows for a number of years Mike diversified into beef and sheep in 2001.
Alongside the cattle and sheep husbandry, he started producing more hay, haylage and straw to sell to the equine world. Producing thousands of small and big bales every year, Mike gained a reputation for the highest quality produce to suit all dietary needs.
The farm has continued to thrive, with horses always being a mainstay throughout.
